Kyvo opens a branch in Lisbon

Lisbon, January 8th, 2018: Kyvo Design-driven Innovation is a Brazilian company specializing in innovation and service design. Today, Kyvo opened a branch in Lisbon, Portugal. It is Kyvo’s second international operation in less than two years. Kyvo´s first branch is located in the Silicon Valley in the center of the innovations GSVlabs, of which Kyvo is the exclusive Brazil-based representative. Kyvo’s main goal is to be part of European market innovation, to develop digital transformation projects and open innovation and corporate ventures with companies located in Lisbon.

“Nowadays, Lisbon presents one of the best innovation ecosystems in Europe. It has very high quality professionals and a business climate that encourages entrepreneurship”, said Mr. Hilton Menezes, Kyvo’s CEO.

According to Menezes, the arrival of the Kyvo in Portugal, means not only an entry point to the rest of Europe, but also opens a range of project opportunities developed in partnership with local companies that are already underway in Brazil. “At the same time we put ourselves in potential partnership to work together with these local companies”, he adds.

In 2015, the European Union awarded the Portuguese capital as one of the best cities for innovation and entrepreneurship, within the European Entrepreneurial Region. The prize is for its de-bureaucratization and expedition of startups. In this sense, it is a 200 million Euros public-private venture for risk investments brand new creation.

In Portugal, Kyvo has a strategic partner, Mr. Mauro Bastos, who has had many experiences with multinationals. He has worked for ten years at Microsoft. Mr. Bastos as a direct partner in Portugal will be responsible for operating the branch and will work directly in digital transformation projects. The Portuguese companies might invest more than 3.5 million Euros in digital transformation and IT during the next two years. This market is not only meaningful, but also innovative which is one of its main strengths”, says Mr. Bastos. Kyvo is based in Lisbon at the Idea Hub, a huge coworking center at the Parque das Nações by the Tejo river.

Kyvo was created in 2015 by technologists and designer-experts. This company has offered a range of solutions in digital transformation, corporate innovation, acceleration programs for startups and innovation in general services. In the past year, Kyvo has developed many projects such as Track in partnership with Visa and EDPStarter in partnership with EDP Brasil, both of which include acceleration and innovation programs.

Kyvo was chosen by the South Korean government for publicizing, promoting and selecting startups for the K-Startup Grand Challenge, which has been the main Korean initiative to attract entrepreneurs from all over the world. In total, Kyvo has analyzed more than 600 startups in 2017. Beyond its operations in the Silicon Valley and Lisboa, Kyvo has its own business units in the city of Florianopolis-SC, Curitiba-PR, Rio de Janeiro-RJ, Vitoria-ES, Belem-PA and Sao Paulo-SP, Brazil, where is its head office.
